The advantages of this system as compared to others?
WATERKOTTE underfloor heating is made up of tested, industry standard components. The most important criterion in favour of WATERKOTTE underfloor heating, however, has to do with heat generation and its distribution coming from the same firm. Particularly in the case if heat pumps a homogenised chain of planning and a well planned underfloor heating are of enormous significance. The efficiency of the heat pump is to a large degree dependent in a well planned and well laid underfloor heating. Errors in the underfloor heating can only be corrected with the greatest difficulty. In this regard even our colleagues offering “good†systems are only our equals in a limited sense, for they often lack understanding and sensitivity regards heat pumps.
How does it work?
Hot water underfloor heating gives off its heat into the room via heating pipes under the heating surface, or in the ceiling. By using large heat transfer surfaces underfloor heating can be operated at very low temperatures and still assure full-scale room heating. The heat emission occurs largely in the form of radiation. The convective action of the heat emission, which in conventional radiators causes is known to blow the dust all around, is very low with this system.
How is it installed?
The assembly of WATERKOTTE underfloor heating takes place in new buildings, generally after the interior plaster has been finished and after the exterior windows are in place. First of all, as a foundation, the insulation is brought in, which, depending on structural factors, consists of 1 to 3 layers. In addition the insulated surface is fitted with edge insulation strips, in order to assure the sonic insulation of the floor from the rest of the building. The heating pipes are laid on top of the system insulation, the uppermost layer of which is covered with a screen with a wire frame grid. The pipes are connected to the distributors. The arrangement of the heating pipes depends on the distance between them, the building structure and the heat generators. The necessary calculations are performed by the technical service of the WATERKOTTE firm. The heating pipes are especially flexible and made of polyethylene, which makes them especially heat resistant. They are tested, checked, and certified according to various criteria.
What does underfloor heating consist of?
WATERKOTTE underfloor heating consists of all the components needed for an energy-saving surface heating in conformity with the pertinent norms. The system is composed of a distribution closet, heat circuit distributors with adjustable flow meters, diffusion-proof heating pipes with fixtures, heat insulation (and sound-proofing) for floors above ground, as well as regulator components with heating and/or cooling functions for operating the installation.
